AML is proud to announce the expansion of its operations into the Northern region of Australia. As part of the company’s long term business strategy, we have opened new branch offices in Port Hedland, Western Australia and Darwin, Northern Territory.
AML has had a presence in the Northwest for 4 years with a premises in Karratha. This premise was operated as a base for field service operations and larger repairs. The decision to move to Port Hedland was based on the need to establish a more central base in the Northwest. Port Hedland allows short travel times to the Iron Ore mines situated between Port Hedland and Newman, whilst still being able to supply good coverage to Karratha and Onslow.
The Northern Territory has always been part of AML’s business plan. The NT is a growing market with good long term growth. AML’s partnership with Terex as NT service/parts agent along with Tadano and Marine Travelift partnerships, allows AML to offer customers of NT a full range of service and support products to help their growing market.
A wide range of products and services will be offered at both branch offices to give customers a quality customer service experience. Stock of spare parts for Tadano and Terex are held at both locations with over $200K worth of products split between them. Items such as filter kits, ropes, tyres, and critical items affecting machine productivity have been selected with inventory growing as required. Both locations have overnight freight systems in place for any part that isn’t in stock.
Full workshop facilities are offered from both locations with 3 fully equipped vehicles at both branch offices as well site compliant fully bunded 3500ltr service trailers. Both workshops are equipped to complete repairs from minor servicing to major overhauls.
AML has hired a new staff member with 8 years experience working on cranes and lifting equipment in the Northwest to manage the Port Hedland branch. He will be based in Port Hedland as a local support technician with the field service still covered by AML’s 3 dedicated Northwest technicians. One of AML’s long term service technicians has relocated to Darwin to supply technical support to the Darwin branch. Working with two local employees, he is supported through the Perth operations as required, with AML’s dedicated product support staff visiting monthly to conduct training and equipment updates.
The Port Hedland and Darwin branch offices have been setup to improve customer service and support in remote locations, and improve product support in areas that are generally difficult to cover. With our product range and the level of support we have through manufacturers, we are already receiving positive feedback. It’s all about supplying our customers the best possible service and support no matter where they are.
